| Obverse description | The central field features the Arms of the Republic of Liberia, depicting a sailing ship at sea beneath a palm tree and a rising sun, with a dove in flight above and a plough and shovel in the exergue of the shield. A ribbon scroll above the shield bears the national motto THE LOVE OF LIBERTY BROUGHT US HERE, while a secondary legend REPUBLIC OF LIBERIA appears within the lower portion of the shield. The date 2000 is divided by the coat of arms to left and right in the mid-field. The outer legend REPUBLIC OF LIBERIA arcs around the upper periphery, and the denomination 20 DOLLARS is inscribed along the lower rim. |
