This piece commemorates the Pont Neuf, Paris's oldest standing bridge, completed in 1607 under Henri IV — who, by some accounts, personally crossed it on the day of its opening. The Liberian dollar denomination is nominal fiction here; the coin's entire commercial logic was souvenir sales to European collectors, routed through a licensing arrangement with a private mint.
