| 表面の説明 | The obverse features the national coat of arms of Liberia prominently displayed in the centre of the field, depicting a sailing ship at sea before a rising sun, a palm tree, and a plough with a dove in flight, all within an ornate shield. A scrolled banner above the shield bears the national motto THE LOVE OF LIBERTY BROUGHT US HERE. The legend REPUBLIC OF LIBERIA arcs along the upper periphery, with a repeated inscription REPUBLIC OF LIBERIA along the lower periphery on a ribbon scroll. The date 2004 is divided across the lower field, flanking the coat of arms, with a beaded inner border encircling the entire design. |

Liberia's early 2000s commemorative program was largely driven by overseas licensing arrangements, producing coins with virtually no connection to Liberia itself. The Replot Bridge, which spans the Kvarken strait in western Finland and opened in 1997, is the longest bridge in that country at roughly 1,045 meters — an entirely reasonable subject for a Finnish commemorative, but an odd one for a West African central bank. These pieces were minted for the collector market and saw no meaningful circulation in Liberia.
