| Beschrijving voorzijde | The obverse features a circular medallion set within a non-standard shaped flan styled as an architectural tablet, with a Greek meander (key) border framing the upper register and flanking columns in the lower register. Within the central roundel, the diademed and draped effigy of Queen Elizabeth II faces right, rendered after the Ian Rank-Broadley portrait, with the legend ELIZABETH II to the left and COOK ISLANDS to the right. The denomination 20 DOLLARS appears below the effigy within the inner circle. The individual edition number (000/501) and the date 2022 are engraved in the lower field of the tablet, below the columned arcade. |

| Beschrijving keerzijde | The reverse presents a high-relief sculptural depiction of Zeus, king of the Olympian gods, seated in majesty upon an ornate throne, closely inspired by the celebrated chryselephantine statue of Zeus at Olympia, one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. The deity is rendered as a powerfully built, bearded male figure wearing a laurel wreath, his upper body bare and his lower body draped in flowing robes, holding a sceptre in his right hand. The elaborately decorated throne features acanthus-scroll friezes, Greek meander borders, and subsidiary figural reliefs on the side panels. A small figure, possibly Nike, is discernible at the lower left of the throne, consistent with the ancient iconographic tradition. The entire composition is finished in gold plating, enhancing the monumental and divine character of the design. |
