| Aversbeschreibung | The obverse features the effigy of Queen Elizabeth II in right-facing profile, as sculpted by Susanna Blunt, depicting the monarch uncrowned and wearing a pearl necklace and drop earrings, her hair styled in a characteristic upswept coiffure. The portrait occupies the central field with a clean, unadorned background typical of Canadian proof coinage. The legend ELIZABETH II arcs along the left rim, while CANADA and the date 2020 appear across the upper field, and D•G•REGINA is inscribed along the right rim. The denomination 20 DOLLARS is positioned along the lower rim, completing the circular legend. |

| Reversbeschreibung | The reverse displays a boldly rendered frontal depiction of Xhuwaji, the Haida Grizzly Bear, rendered in the distinctive formline style of Northwest Coast Indigenous art by Haida artist Clarence Mills. The design fills the entire coin field with an intricate composition rendered in vivid red and black coloring applied over a white ground, characteristic of applied colour printing technique. The bear's broad, symmetrical face is dominated by large oval eyes with circular pupils, a prominent wide mouth with bared teeth, and a stylized red nose and tongue at centre. The surrounding field is filled with traditional Haida formline elements including ovoids, U-forms, and split-U motifs representing the bear's body, ears, paws, and claws. No inscriptions appear on the reverse, the design extending to the reeded rim. |
