Beschrijving keerzijde The reverse features a central composition depicting a large adult woodchuck (Marmota monax) rendered in fine proof relief against a rocky background in the upper field, with a colorized juvenile woodchuck in the foreground shown nibbling a purple clover blossom. The surrounding flora — including purple clover, yellow wildflowers, and green grasses — is rendered in vivid selective color application. The legend 'CANADA' arcs along the upper border beneath a naturalistic rocky outcrop, with the date '2016' at lower left, the engraver's initials 'MG' at the left field, and the denomination '20 DOLLARS' along the lower right periphery.

Aanvullende informatie

Part of the Royal Canadian Mint's long-running "$20 for $20" program, which launched in 2011 and sold fine silver coins directly to the public at face value — an aggressive retail strategy that made precious metal collecting accessible to buyers who had never purchased a numismatic coin before. The woodchuck was among the later issues as the program wound down, by which point the RCM had quietly raised prices above the nominal twenty-dollar peg.
