| Obverse description | The obverse presents a composite tribute portrait depicting four successive effigies of Queen Elizabeth II in right-facing profile, overlapping from largest to smallest to represent the progression of her reign from 1952 to 2022. The foremost and largest effigy shows the Queen in mature years, wearing a pearl necklace, with her hair styled in an upswept chignon; successive effigies behind show progressively younger portraits, each wearing a tiara or crown. The field and portraits are rendered with a matte rhodium finish contrasted against selective black rhodium plating, creating a dramatic two-tone effect. Along the lower rim, the legend reads ELIZABETH II D·G·REGINA, flanked by the regnal dates 1952 and 2022, separated by a small black rhodium-plated Royal cypher motif. |
