| Reverse description | The oval reverse presents an elaborately coloured pysanka — a traditional Ukrainian Easter egg — designed by Canadian artist Dave Wasylyshen, rendered in vivid enamel-style colour application against the silver field. The intricate geometric ornamentation incorporates both T-form and X-form crosses symbolising crossroads and the four cardinal directions, alongside ribbons denoting eternity and harmony, and diamond, triangular, and dot motifs representing knowledge, wisdom, and the stars. Ladder and wave elements signifying prosperity and everlasting life complete the decorative programme, executed in symbolic colours: blue for the sky and good health, red for passion and happiness, and yellow for purity and light. The legend 20 DOLLARS 2021 CANADA is inscribed around the lower portion of the design. |
