Reverse description The reverse presents a richly colored depiction of a Canadian Tiger Swallowtail butterfly (Papilio canadensis) at rest upon a dandelion flower in full bloom, with the butterfly's distinctive yellow and black wing patterning rendered in vivid polychrome enamel against the mirror-polished silver field. The design by Samantha Strath captures fine naturalistic detail in both the butterfly's wing venation and the dandelion's florets. This coin is the inaugural issue of the Royal Canadian Mint's Canadian Butterfly series. The legend CANADA 2013 20 DOLLARS arcs along the lower periphery, accompanied by the artist's signature monogram GC.
