| Reverse description | The reverse features a dramatic, highly detailed depiction of the skull and skeletal remains of Thanatotheristes degrootorum, a large theropod dinosaur discovered in Alberta, Canada. Two views of the cranium are presented — a frontal view in the lower left and a lateral view occupying the upper right — rendered in polished silver relief against a deeply textured, rhodium-blackened field evoking sedimentary rock strata. The species name THANATOTHERISTES DEGROOTORUM arcs along the upper portion of the field, with CANADA inscribed vertically along the left rim and 20 DOLLARS along the right.
