| Additional information |
Issued under the Royal Canadian Mint's licensed comic series program, this coin corresponds to the second issue of DC's Superman Unchained, the 2013–2014 Scott Snyder-written run that reunited him with artist Jim Lee. The series was notable for including a fold-out oversized insert in its debut issue — an unusual production choice for a mainstream comic. The RCM's numismatic comic tie-ins were produced in strictly limited quantities and sold directly to collectors, meaning essentially none entered circulation.
