| Reverse description | Highly detailed high-relief depiction of the Hindu deity Shiva seated in a mountainous landscape with an antiqued silver finish and selective gold-coloured gilding. The figure is shown facing forward with long flowing hair adorned with a crescent moon and a small figure of Ganga at the crown, wearing traditional ornaments including a rudrakshamala bead necklace. Shiva holds the golden trishula (trident) in one raised hand and a flame in the lower right hand, while the sacred bull Nandi, elaborately caparisoned, occupies the left field. The name SHIVA is inscribed in a decorative cartouche at the base of the design. |
