At the top is the mature, right-facing effigy by Susanna Blunt; to the left, the youthful laureate portrait by Mary Gillick; to the right, the diademed and pearl-necklaced effigy by Arnold Machin; and at the bottom, the tiara-crowned effigy by Raphael Maklouf. At the center, a fifth smaller circular reserve bears the arched legend ELIZABETH II above the date 2021 and D·G·REGINA below, all rendered in Latin script. The overall composition celebrates the Queen's seven decades on the throne through the progression of her official Canadian coin portraits. |
