| Obverse description | The obverse bears the fifth and final effigy of Queen Elizabeth II, depicting her at age 77, with a bare head, wearing a necklace and earrings, facing right. The effigy, modelled by sculptor Susanna Blunt, is accompanied by a special commemorative double-date inscription reading '1952' and '2022', the two dates separated by four pearls symbolising the four distinct royal portraits that appeared on Canadian coinage throughout Her Majesty's reign. The surrounding legend reads 'ELIZABETH II D•G•REGINA' in the upper field, with the denomination year '2024' also present. This obverse design serves as a lasting tribute to the longest-reigning Canadian monarch. |
