| Obverse description | The fourth portrait of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II by engraver Susan Taylor is presented in right-facing effigy, depicting the sovereign at approximately 77 years of age, bareheaded, adorned with a necklace and earrings. The legend ELIZABETH II D·G·REGINA arcs along the upper periphery of the field, identifying the sovereign and her title by the grace of God. The portrait is executed in fine relief against a polished proof field, consistent with Royal Canadian Mint collector coinage of the period. |
