Beschrijving voorzijde The obverse bears the fourth definitive effigy of Queen Elizabeth II, depicted in right-facing profile as a mature sovereign at approximately 77 years of age, bareheaded and adorned with a necklace and drop earrings. The portrait, executed in fine relief against a polished field, is the work of engraver Susan Taylor. The peripheral legend reads ELIZABETH II D·G·REGINA, invoking the monarch's title by the Grace of God, rendered in Latin in a clean serif typeface encircling the bust.

Aanvullende informatie

Mercuriceratops gemini was described scientifically in 2014 from specimens collected in both Alberta and Montana, making it one of the cleaner examples of a single ceratopsid species straddling the modern Canada–U.S. border. The "gemini" epithet directly references that paired provenance. The Royal Canadian Mint's ongoing collaboration with Canadian paleontologists to produce legal-tender dinosaur issues has made this series one of the more scientifically grounded numismatic programs of the past decade — species selection typically follows peer-reviewed publication rather than popular appeal.
