Issued as part of the Royal Canadian Mint's "Masters of the Air" wildlife series, this 2015 release focuses on the Canada Goose — one of the most ecologically and culturally significant migratory birds in North America. The RCM's fine silver collector series of this period were struck to .9999 purity rather than the more common .999, a standard the mint adopted to differentiate its bullion-adjacent collector pieces and maintain a marketing edge over competing national mints pushing premium fineness grades.
Mintage on individual issues in this series was tightly capped, typically around 7,500 pieces worldwide.
