Obverse description The obverse bears the fourth definitive effigy of Queen Elizabeth II by engraver Susan Taylor, depicting the monarch in right-facing profile as a mature woman of approximately 77 years of age, bare-headed, wearing a necklace and drop earrings. The portrait is rendered in fine relief against a flat field. The legend arcs above along the upper periphery and reads ELIZABETH II D·G·REGINA, invoking the sovereign's title by the grace of God in Latin.
