| Obverse description | The obverse bears the fourth definitive effigy of Queen Elizabeth II by Susanna Blunt, depicting a mature, bare-headed portrait of the Queen facing right, wearing a necklace and drop earrings. The legend ELIZABETH II encircles the upper field, with D·G·REGINA and CANADA completing the inscription around the lower periphery. The effigy is rendered in fine relief against a flat field, consistent with Royal Canadian Mint collector coinage of the period. |
