| 裏面の説明 | The reverse depicts the Royal Canadian Navy hydrofoil HMCS Bras d'Or (FHE-400) under way at speed, shown in selective gold plating with dramatic foaming bow wake rendered in finely detailed relief against a mirror-polished field. An inset holographic cameo vignette in the upper register presents a profile view of the vessel, accented with gold plating, enclosed within an oval frame. The hull number '400' is visible on the bow of the main ship depiction. The designer's initials 'DC' appear to the right of the holographic vignette. The legend 'CANADA 20 DOLLARS' is inscribed along the lower periphery in raised letters. |

The HMCS *Bras d'Or* (FHE-400) was an experimental hydrofoil warship operated by the Royal Canadian Navy, launched in 1968 and capable of sustained speeds exceeding 60 knots — briefly making her the fastest naval vessel in the world. The program was suspended in 1971, largely due to fuel costs following the oil crisis, and she was never returned to active service. This coin was issued as part of the Royal Canadian Mint's ongoing Transportation series, which ran through the late 1990s and early 2000s commemorating historically significant Canadian vessels and vehicles.
