| Reverse description | The reverse presents a central vignette depicting a female teacher standing beside an easel-mounted map of Barbados, addressing a group of seated women students shown from behind, evoking themes of female education and empowerment. The arc legend 'UNITED NATIONS DECADE FOR WOMEN' curves along the upper and right periphery in bold raised lettering. Two stylised UN Decade for Women emblems flank the lower portion of the central design. The denomination '20 DOLLARS' is inscribed along the lower rim. The composition is rendered in a clean, modern relief style consistent with the commemorative purpose of the issue. |

| Additional information |
The United Nations Decade for Women ran from 1976 to 1985, closing with the Third World Conference on Women held in Nairobi in July of that year. Barbados was among a number of Commonwealth nations that issued commemorative coins to mark the conclusion of the program, which had been formally launched following the 1975 International Women's Year conference in Mexico City.
KM#46 is a low-mintage issue with limited secondary market depth — not extensively tracked in auction records, which points to a small original production run sold primarily through the Central Bank directly.
