| Reverse description | The reverse displays a vivid full-color photographic depiction of the Chichibu Night Festival in Japan, showcasing an elaborately decorated festival float (yatai) adorned with red lanterns and intricate carvings, set against a spectacular nighttime fireworks display bursting in hues of blue and purple above the scene. The curved legend 'Japanese Traditional Festivals Collection' arcs along the upper rim, and the fineness mark '.9999' appears to the right within the field. The colorized central motif is framed by the polished gold border, creating a striking contrast between the vivid imagery and the lustrous metal surround. |

| Additional information |
The Chichibu Night Festival, held each December in Saitama Prefecture, is one of Japan's three great float festivals and dates to at least the early Edo period. The floats — some weighing several tons — are hauled through the streets to the accompaniment of hayashi music and punctuated by fireworks fired from a hillside. Cook Islands has issued extensively in the Japanese commemorative market since the 2000s, functioning effectively as a licensing mint for foreign cultural subjects with no sovereign connection to the issuing territory.
