| Obverse description | Right-facing effigy of Queen Elizabeth II at age 77, rendered in the fourth definitive portrait by engraver Susan Taylor. The bare-headed bust shows the Queen adorned with a necklace and drop earrings, with fine detail in the hair. The legend arcs around the upper periphery, and the country name is inscribed along the lower rim. |

The "Bugs Bunny" dollar of 2015 earned its nickname from collectors who noticed that the effigy of Elizabeth II by Susanna Blunt, as used on this issue, bears an unintended resemblance to the cartoon character when examined at certain angles — a quirk of the portrait's rendering at small scale on a 27mm planchet. The Royal Canadian Mint has never officially acknowledged the comparison.
