Obverse description Right-facing diademed effigy of Queen Elizabeth II wearing a tiara and draped bust, as designed by Arnold Machin, occupying the central field against a deeply mirrored proof background. The legend 'ELIZABETH II' arcs along the left periphery, while 'CANADA 1986' arcs along the right periphery. A small maple leaf device appears at the base of the portrait, serving as a divider between the two inscription segments. The portrait is rendered in fine frosted relief, characteristic of Royal Canadian Mint proof coinage of the period.
