| Obverse description | The obverse features the fourth definitive effigy of Queen Elizabeth II by engraver Susan Taylor, portraying Her Majesty at 77 years of age with a bare head, wearing a necklace and drop earrings, facing right. The portrait is rendered in high relief, presenting a mature and refined likeness consistent with the 2003 Dora de Pédery-Hunt replacement series adapted for Canadian coinage.
