| Beschrijving keerzijde | A vibrant, colour-enhanced design depicting a blooming aster flower, its petals rendered in rich purple tones against the polished silver field. Perched upon the flower is a hand-crafted Venetian glass bumble bee, an artisanal sculptural element that lends three-dimensional depth and unique artistic character to the composition. The reverse was engraved by Cecily Mok. The denomination 20 DOLLARS and the legends CANADA and 2012 are inscribed around the design. |

Part of the Royal Canadian Mint's fine silver botanical series, this issue belongs to a run of collector-focused releases that the RCM expanded aggressively in the early 2010s as bullion prices made small-mintage silver coins an attractive retail product. The aster-and-bee pairing was one of several nature pairings issued that year under the broader "wildlife and flora" collector umbrella.
Mintage was capped at 10,000 pieces worldwide — a ceiling the RCM applied consistently across the series to sustain secondary market demand.
