| Obverse description | Right-facing draped bust of Queen Elizabeth II, engraved by Arnold Machin, wearing the Girls of Great Britain and Ireland tiara, rendered in high relief against a mirror-polished field. This is the second effigy of the Queen as used on Commonwealth coinage from the late 1960s onward.
