Obverse description Right-facing draped bust of Queen Elizabeth II wearing the tiara, as modelled by Arnold Machin for her second definitive portrait. The effigy is rendered in high relief with finely detailed coiffure and diadem. The legend ELIZABETH II arcs along the left periphery, while FIJI and the date 1978 are inscribed along the right periphery in Latin characters.
