| Reverse description | The reverse presents an imaginative artistic rendition of the Langenburg Event, a reported UFO incident that occurred on the morning of September 1, 1974, near Langenburg, Saskatchewan. The scene is depicted from the perspective of the sole witness: a farmer is shown seated atop his stalled swather in the foreground, his back to the viewer, as five disc-shaped objects rise above the tall grass before him. Fluorescent blacklight-reactive paint is incorporated into the design to render the vapour trails emanating from the craft and the circular depressions of radioactive material left in the field beneath them, which are only visible under ultraviolet illumination. The word CANADA and the engraver's initials SH appear within the reverse legend. |
