| Obverse description | Uncrowned effigy of King Charles III facing left, depicted at approximately 74 years of age, rendered in high relief against a frosted field. The portrait, engraved by Steven Rosati, shows the King in civilian dress with a suit and tie, his features modelled with fine detail. The legend CHARLES III arcs along the left side of the hexagonal flan, while CANADA 2024 curves along the upper edge and D·G·REX along the right. The denomination 20 DOLLARS is inscribed along the lower edge. The engraver's initials SR appear on the truncation. |

Canada's annual fine silver snowflake series has run long enough that the transition from Elizabeth II to Charles III in late 2022 required a straightforward portrait swap — the RCM updated its obverse effigies across bullion and collector lines within months of the accession. The light blue Swarovski crystal at the center is a production constant for this series, press-set after striking.
