The central coloured vignette portrays the Officer in Charge mounted on a black Hanoverian horse, sword raised in salute, as performed at the opening and closing of each Musical Ride performance. Surrounding the central image, an engraved ring of pennons — representing the lances carried by each of the 32 riders of the troop — frames the composition, evoking the precision and pageantry of this celebrated Canadian tradition.
