Reverse description The reverse is engraved in ultra high relief (UHR) and depicts a dramatic scene of a grey wolf (Canis lupus) pack in pursuit across a rugged Canadian wilderness landscape. The lead wolf dominates the foreground in dynamic motion, shown mid-stride as it navigates rocky, forested terrain, with additional pack members visible in the background closing in on their prey. The composition conveys tremendous depth and movement, with fine naturalistic detail rendered throughout the rocky ground, foliage, and fur of the animals. The engraver's initials ED appear within the design.
