| Reverse description | The reverse depicts a detailed view of the Pont de Fragnée, the ornate stone arch bridge spanning the Meuse River in Liège, Belgium, rendered in high relief. To the right of the bridge appears the right-facing effigy of King Leopold II of Belgium, shown in a formal bust portrait. The bridge's elaborate Art Nouveau architectural elements are rendered with fine engraving detail. The upper field carries the legend 'BELGIUM - PONT DE FRAGNEE' arcing along the periphery, while the denomination '20 DOLLARS' is inscribed in the lower field. |

| Additional information |
Liberia's early 2000s foreign-subject commemorative program was frankly a collector-market operation — coins issued with no meaningful domestic circulation, designed and largely sold through European distributors targeting thematic collectors. The Pont de Fragnée, a steel arch bridge completed in Liège in 1905, had no particular connection to Liberia. The "20 Dollars" denomination bore no relation to Liberian monetary reality at the time of issue.
