| Obverse description | The full national coat of arms of Liberia occupies the central field, depicting a three-masted sailing ship at sea, a palm tree, a rising sun, a plough and a shovel, all surmounted by a scroll bearing the national motto 'THE LOVE OF LIBERTY BROUGHT US HERE.' The legend 'REPUBLIC OF LIBERIA' arcs along the upper periphery, with '20 DOLLARS' inscribed along the lower periphery.
