| Obverse description | The obverse displays the national coat of arms of Liberia in high relief at centre, featuring a sailing ship at sea beneath a palm tree with a rising sun, surmounted by a scroll bearing the national motto THE LOVE OF LIBERTY BROUGHT US HERE, and enclosed within a decorative escutcheon inscribed REPUBLIC OF LIBERIA.
