This is a private fantasy note — not a product of the Bureau of Engraving and Printing, not legal tender, and not affiliated with the U.S. Treasury in any official capacity. Designed by Slovak artist Matej Gabris, whose name appears on a long series of similar tribute pieces featuring figures he considers overlooked or underrepresented on world currency, it circulates primarily among novelty collectors and is sometimes mistaken online for a genuine proposal submitted to the U.S. government.
Polymer substrate and a transparent window give it a superficial resemblance to modern Commonwealth banknotes, which is almost certainly deliberate.
