Reverse description The reverse is engraved in green intaglio, centered on a detailed architectural vignette of the Bank of Montreal's head office on Saint Jacques Street, a neoclassical building with a grand Corinthian colonnade and domed roof, with horse-drawn vehicles in the foreground. The vignette is surrounded by elaborate lathe-work guilloche panels bearing the denomination numeral '20' repeated at each corner, with 'BANK OF MONTREAL' across the top and 'Twenty Dollars' along the lower margin. The printer's imprint 'CANADIAN BANK NOTE COMPANY, LIMITED' appears at the base.
