Obverse description Black intaglio print on cream paper with elaborate guilloche underprint. Two oval portrait vignettes flank a central medallion bearing the numeral '20' within an ornate lathe-work frame; the left portrait shows a clean-shaven gentleman in a suit and the right a mustachioed gentleman in formal attire. The upper legend reads 'DOMINION OF CANADA / BANQUE INTERNATIONALE DU CANADA' with the promise clause 'WILL PAY TO THE BEARER ON DEMAND', the date 'MONTREAL, OCT. 17TH, 1911', and the stated capital 'CAPITAL $10,000,000'; denomination corners carry '20' with 'TWENTY DOLLARS' in letterpress at centre base.
