| Obverse description | Central field displays the national coat of arms of Liberia, featuring a three-masted sailing ship at sea, a palm tree, a rising sun, and a plough with a spade in the foreground, all enclosed within a decorative shield supported by scrollwork. A ribbon across the top of the shield bears the national motto THE LOVE OF LIBERTY BROUGHT US HERE, and a lower scroll is inscribed REPUBLIC OF LIBERIA. The outer legend REPUBLIC OF LIBERIA arcs along the upper rim, while the denomination 20 DOLLARS appears along the lower rim. The year of issue is divided either side of the coat of arms, reading 20 and 00. |
