| 表面の説明 | The National Coat of Arms of Tajikistan occupies the central field, depicting a stylised rising sun above an open book, flanked by sheaves of wheat on the right and cotton bolls on the left, with a crown and seven stars above. The arms are rendered in bold relief in the characteristic Soviet-influenced heraldic style. The Cyrillic legend ҶУМҲУРИИ ТОҶИКИСТОН (Republic of Tajikistan) runs along the upper periphery. The date of issue appears in the lower field, flanked by two raised dots serving as separators. |

Tajikistan's diram series was introduced in 2001 following the replacement of the Soviet-era ruble with the somoni, named for Ismoil Somoni, the 9th-century Samanid ruler adopted as a national symbol after independence. The brass-plated steel composition reflects the country's position as one of the poorest economies in the former Soviet space, where full brass or cupro-nickel coinage would have been economically impractical for low-denomination circulation.
