| 正面描述 | The obverse features the coat of arms of Andorra, depicting a quartered shield surmounted by a princely crown, positioned centrally in the field. The denomination '20 D.' appears below the shield, flanked by the date '1998' in the lower field. A circular legend reads 'JOAN · D.M. BISBE · D`URGELL · I · PRINCEP · D`ANDORRA', identifying Joan Martí i Alanis as Bishop of Urgell and Prince of Andorra. The design is executed in a clean, flat relief style typical of modern commemorative coinage. |

Andorra issued this coin in advance of the Sydney 2000 Games — the "XXVII Summer Olympics" designation places it two cycles ahead of the 1996 Atlanta Games, making 1998 a standard lead-time commemorative release. The gold inlay technique, fusing a small 18-karat element into a sterling field, was fashionable among European mints in the late 1990s as a premium differentiator for the collector market. Joan Martí i Alanis, who served as Bishop of Urgell from 1971 to 2003, held that position co-jointly with the French head of state as one of Andorra's two co-princes — his name on the coin reflects his constitutional role as co-issuing authority, not merely an honorific.
