| Reverse description | A detailed bird's-eye perspective view of the Seoul Olympic Stadium, venue of the 1988 XXIV Summer Olympiad, rendered in fine relief and occupying the majority of the reverse field. The elliptical open-air structure is depicted with precise architectural detail, showing the tiered seating and distinctive cantilevered roof. The legend 'XXIV OLIMPIADA' curves along the upper periphery, while 'SEOUL 1988' appears in the lower exergue, both in raised Latin capitals. |

Andorra did not gain full international Olympic recognition in time for the 1988 Seoul Games — the country's National Olympic Committee was only recognized by the IOC in 1975, but Andorra made its Summer Olympic debut at Los Angeles in 1976. The 1988 issue commemorates that ongoing Olympic participation under the authority of Joan Martí i Alanis, the Bishop of Urgell, who co-serves as one of Andorra's two Co-Princes alongside the French President — an arrangement unchanged since 1278.
