表面の説明 At left, the Coat of Arms of the Emirate of Kuwait is printed in intaglio alongside a vignette of the Kuwait Stock Exchange building facade, also rendered in intaglio. Intricate guilloche underprint patterns fill the background in the note's predominant colour scheme, with the denomination numeral '20' repeated at multiple positions across the face. Arabic inscriptions identifying the issuing authority and denomination are arranged along the upper and lower registers.

裏面の説明 The central vignette presents an intaglio rendering of the Justice Center building in Kuwait City, set in brown tones against a light ground with palm trees visible to the left of the structure. 'Central Bank of Kuwait' is inscribed in English along the upper margin, with 'Twenty Dinars' in large lettering to the lower right, flanked by numeral '20' counters at left and right. Elaborate guilloche rosettes and latticework underprint panels occupy the margins, with a multicoloured ornamental cartouche at centre bottom.

The most consequential detail about this note has nothing to do with its printing. When Iraqi forces occupied Kuwait in August 1990, they looted the Central Bank's vaults and seized large quantities of Kuwaiti dinars — including stocks of this series. The stolen notes, identifiable by their serial number prefix denominator 11, were subsequently circulated or sold at heavily discounted rates, flooding regional markets. After liberation in 1991, Kuwait invalidated its entire currency and replaced it with a new series, rendering all prefix 11 examples worthless through no fault of normal wear.

Collectors treat the prefix 11 notes as a distinct category precisely because of that provenance.
