The 1950 Yugoslav dinar series was designed and printed in anticipation of a post-war monetary consolidation, but the political rupture with the Soviet Union — Tito's break with Stalin in 1948 and Yugoslavia's expulsion from the Cominform — completely disrupted distribution planning. This note, catalogued as a trial piece tied to the "Informbireau" designation, was never released to the public. The ZIN facility in Belgrade had the capacity to produce the notes domestically, which was itself a point of national pride after decades of reliance on foreign printers.
