| Reverse description | Purple on a multicolour guilloche underprint, the reverse is dominated by the bold intaglio numeral '20' set within a large central medallion, encircled by a band inscribed with the names of the Yugoslav constituent republics and autonomous provinces in Serbian Cyrillic. Denomination panels in both Cyrillic and Latin scripts flank the central device, while the country title is rendered in three official languages along the right margin. The anti-counterfeiting warning legend runs along the lower border in four languages, with the designer and engraver credits at the bottom corners. |

P#85 ran through an unusually long print window — seven years across a politically turbulent stretch that included Tito's death in 1980 and the beginning of the inflationary spiral that would eventually consume the Yugoslav dinar entirely. The note was still being issued as the federation's economic contradictions were becoming impossible to manage through central planning alone.
ZIN, the Belgrade state printing works, handled both design and production domestically — Petrović and Matić were house talent, part of the same institution that struck the coinage. The watermark is the sole mechanical security feature, modest even by the standards of the period.
