Additional information

The Turks and Caicos Islands adopted the crown as a commemorative denomination in the 1970s primarily as a revenue vehicle — these pieces were never intended for everyday exchange. This 1995 issue marks the fiftieth anniversary of Victory in Europe Day, when Germany's unconditional surrender was signed on May 8, 1945, ending nearly six years of war on the European continent.

KM#138 is one of several VE Day pieces the territory issued that year in varying denominations and metals.
