Holland is shown running on the surface, labelled HOLLAND to its left; below, the nuclear-powered ballistic missile submarine H.M.S. Vanguard is depicted partially submerged, labelled VANGUARD to its left. The motto WE COME UNSEEN appears in the right field between the two vessels. The legend ROYAL NAVY SUBMARINES arcs along the upper periphery, while 100th ANNIVERSARY curves along the lower border.
