| Beschrijving voorzijde | Right-facing crowned effigy of Queen Elizabeth II, wearing the George IV State Diadem and a pearl necklace, her hair elaborately coiled at the nape; the truncation is smooth and unadorned. The portrait is rendered in high relief against a deeply mirrored proof field, consistent with the Raphael Maklouf third-portrait style. The circular legend reads ELIZABETH II · TURKS AND CAICOS ISLANDS along the upper arc, with the denomination · 20 CROWNS · at the base. |

The Turks and Caicos Islands adopted the crown as a commemorative denomination in the 1970s largely because the territory lacked a circulating coinage of its own — the US dollar served that function — leaving the crown series as the islands' primary vehicle for numismatic revenue. By 1993, the fortieth anniversary of the coronation had generated a wave of Commonwealth issues, and smaller dependent territories competed aggressively for collector sales. KM#111 is one of several silver strikes the islands produced that year targeting the same market.
