Opmerkingen

Nicaragua's 1978 Cordoba notes were issued under the Somoza government during its final stretch — the Sandinista offensive that ended the dictatorship came just a year later, in July 1979. The new revolutionary government initially continued circulating existing Somoza-era notes out of practical necessity before introducing their own series, meaning this note likely saw genuine post-revolutionary use alongside the incoming FSLN administration.

De La Rue's production for Nicaragua in this period was broadly competent but unremarkable technically — the watermark security was the primary anti-counterfeiting provision, thin even by late-1970s standards.
