Samoa's numismatic program has issued heavily under licensing arrangements with the Pobjoy Mint and similar private producers since the early 2000s, generating collector-market pieces with no meaningful domestic circulation. This is one of them — a gold-plated copper novelty nominally denominated in Samoan currency but produced entirely for the international souvenir trade.
